Respons Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Beberapa Varietas Padi Gogo (Oryza sativa L.) terhadap Pemberian Pupuk Silika
Abstract
Rice is one of the main sources of food for the people of Indonesia. The
productivity of upland rice is quite low in Indonesia by using superior varieties
and silica fertilization is one alternative in an effort to increase productivity. This
study aims to determine the growth and production response of several upland
rice varieties to the application of silica fertilizer. This research was conducted in
Pekan Bahorok Village, Bahorok District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra
(N 3º49'30.37'', E 98º 18' 9.50'') with an altitude of ± 106 meters above sea level,
conducted from April to August 2023. This study used a factorial Randomized
Group Design with two treatments, the first factor was the use of upland rice
varieties: inpago 12 agritan, inpago 13 fortiz and odang, the second factor was
the application of silica fertilizer: 0; 150; 300 and 450 kg/ha. Data were analyzed
by analysis of variance, the significant variance was continued by using Duncan's
Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The results showed that the treatment of
varieties was significantly different on plant height 2-8 weeks, number of tillers 4-
8 weeks, flag leaf area, number of panicles per clump, crown dry weight, root dry
weight, grain weight per clump, grain weight per plot, number of filled grains per
panicle and number of empty grains per panicle. The application of silica
fertilizer has a significant effect on plant height 7 weeks after planting, number of
tillers 4-8 weeks after planting, flag leaf area, number of filled grains per panicle
and number of empty grains per panicle
