| dc.description.abstract | This paper is written to analyze the layout of the library of Prima Indonesia University. It employs observation, interview, documentation methods as well as literature study. It is aimed to get comprehensive description about the condition of the library. The result of the writing shows that its layout has met eight of the ten elements of its interior design such as rooms, variation, hierarchy, personal area, lighting, audio, temperature, maintenance, air quality, and trend or mode. This library consists of nine rooms in the area of ± 124m². The main obstacle which impedes its management is its small area. Ideally, it should have the area of 6,400 m² in order to meet the guideline standard of operating a university library. It means that the library is minus 5158 m² so that the area for visitors is very limited. Besides that, there is an internal factor concerning electronic sound which sometimes disturbs the visitors' concentration which makes them uncomfortable. It can be concluded that even though the library's interior design has fulfilled most of the interior design elements, some obstacles still exist in optimizing its management. Therefore, as a whole, this library has not yet fulfilled the standard according to the guidelines of operating a university library. | en_US |
