dc.description.abstractThis paper aims to find out about the restoration activities of printed collection at North Sumatera Library and Archives Office. The restoration activities of printed collection at Public Libraries are very essential as an effort to preserve and maintain information contained in library materials. Data are collected using library research, field study, observation, interview and documentation carried out at North Sumatera Library and Archives Office. The results of this paper indicate that North Sumatera Library and Archives Office conduct patching process on the printed collection in order to repair broken parts of the collection so that the damage does not become worse. Meanwhile, the binding activities of printed collection is carried out by binding damaged covers that is by arranging pages that are no longer in sequence and then putting them back together using a cover.en_US
