Peran Gojek terhadap Kesejahteraan Ekonomi Driver di Kota Medan

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Gojek in improving the economic welfare of online motorcycle taxi drivers in Medan City and also to find out the role of the Gojek company in the economic welfare of Gojek drivers in Medan City. The Gojek company is a technology company from Indonesia that provides transportation via motorcycle taxi services using an application on a smartphone. This research uses qualitative research methods and observation by conducting direct interviews with sources to obtain more valid information. This research also uses the triple helix concept, where the triple helix is mentioned as a collaborative concept of synergy between the Government, University and Industry where the Government is the policy maker, the University is the center for research development, and industry is the provider of community service needs to achieve common goals. The object of this research is Gojek drivers in Medan City. The conclusion from this research is that Gojek plays a very important role in improving the economic welfare of Gojek drivers. With the presence of Gojek, it has helped many people in the city of Medan. The expansion of employment opportunities provided by the Gojek company to people who do not have jobs so that the income of people who join as Gojek online motorcycle taxi drivers increases and can fulfill all their primary and secondary needs.
