dc.description.abstractBackground :Traditional medicine has long been used to care various diseases, without knowing the ingredients in the traditional medicine. Bosi bosi leaves are known to contain compounds that are antibacterial, namely flavonoids, triterpenpid steroids and tannins. Antibacterials are compounds used to inhibit bacteria. The general mechanism of the compound is to damage cell walls, change membrane permeability, interfere with protein synthesis, and inhibit the work of enzymes. These phytochemical compounds have the potential to act as antibacterials against pathogenic bacteria, for example against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Objective : The aim of this research is to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration of ethanol extract of bosi-bosi (Timotius flavescens (Jacq.) Baker) leaves against Staphylococcus aureus. Method : Test the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of bosi bosi (Timotius flavescens (Jacq.) Baker) leaves against Staphylococcus aureus using agar diffusion using the positive control chloramphenicol, and the negative control DMSO. Results : The test results showed that the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of bosi-bosi (Timonius flavescens (Jacq.) Baker) leaves against Staphylococcus aureus had activity which was indicated by the presence of a clear zone when determining the diameter of the inhibition zone. The test concentrations used were 150 ppm, 100 ppm, 75 ppm, 37.5 ppm, and 18.75 ppm, with the average diameter of the inhibition zone respectively being 10.7333 mm, 10.1667 mm, 9.7667 mm. , 9.1667mm, 9mm. Conclusion : The minimum inhibitory concentration of ethanol extract of bosi- bosi (Timotius flavescens (Jacq.) Baker) leaves is 1.5245 ppm against Staphylococcus aureusen_US
