dc.description.abstract | This study aims to obtain the fastest growth of two varieties of avocado seeds (Persea americana Mill.) against the administration of the hormone auxin IBA using top grafting technique. This research was conducted from September 2022 to April 2023 at the Gauze House, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan. This study used a two-factorial completely randomized design. The first factor was the concentration of the auxin hormone IBA (Indole Butyric Acid) with 4 treatment levels, namely A0: 0 ppm, A1: 100 ppm, A2: 200 ppm and A3: 300 ppm. The second factor is the variety of avocado seeds with 2 treatment levels, namely V1: Alligator Avocado and V2: Butter Avocado. Parameters observed were the percentage of success grows, time of shoot emergence, number of shoots, shoot length, and number of leaves. Giving IBA concentrations up to a dose of 300 ppm alone was able to increase the percentage of success grows, accelerate the time of emergence of shoots, increase shoot length, number of shoots and number of leaves on butter avocado plant varieties compared to alligator avocado plants. | en_US |
