Kajian Sifat Kimia Tanah Gambut di Perkebunan Sawit Pasca Replanting Kecamatan Bilah Hilir Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Abstract
This study uses a survey method in March 2023 which aims to determine
changes in several chemical properties of peat soils in different replanting periods and
depths. Soil analysis was carried out at the Research and Technology Laboratory of
the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra and the Palm Oil Research
Center Laboratory (PPKS). This study used 30 peat soil samples at depths of 0-30 cm
and 30-60 cm. Soil analysis includes soil pH, C-Organic soil, N-total, C/N, P-available
ratio, moisture content, ash content.
The results of this study showed that the lowest soil pH was found in
unmanaged peatlands with an average of 3.19 and the highest was found in replanting
land 4 with an average of 3.94. The lowest soil acidity (pH) is found at a depth of 30-
60 cm which is 3.59 and the highest is found at a depth of 0-30 cm which is 3.62. The
lowest C-Organic value was found in replanting land 4 with an average of 26.51% and
the highest was found in unmanaged peatland with an average of 77.20%. The lowest
C-Organic value at a depth of 30-60 cm is 43.02% and the highest at a depth of 0-30
cm is 53.51%. The lowest N-Total value in replanting land 4 with an average of 0.50%
and the highest in replanting land 1 with an average of 0.77%. The lowest N-Total
value at a depth of 30-60 is 0.55% and the highest at a depth of 0-30 cm is 0.63%. The
lowest C/N ratio value in replanting land 4 with an average of 62.58 and the highest
in unmanaged peatland at 115.93. The lowest C/N ratio value at a depth of 30-60 cm
is 79.04 and the highest at a depth of 0-30 cm is 84.66. The lowest available P value
was found on unmanaged peatland with an average of 15.52 ppm and the highest on
replanting land 1 with an average of 54.74 ppm. The lowest available P value is found
at a depth of 0-30 cm which is 21.38 ppm and the highest depth of 30-60 cm which is
45.25 ppm. The lowest moisture content value was found in replanting land 1 with an
average of 267.27% and the highest was found in replanting land 4 with an average
moisture content of 511.99%. The lowest moisture content value at a depth of 0-30 is
319.92% and the highest at a depth of 30-60 cm is 413.47%. The lowest ash content
value was found in unmanaged peatlands with an average of 22.80% and the highest
was found in replanting land 4 with an average of 73.40%. The lowest ash content
value is found at a depth of 0-30 cm which is 46.49% and the highest at a depth of 30-
60 cm which is 56.95%.
