dc.description.abstract | The shell is one of the solid waste that is part of the outer rubber fruit wrapper
after the rubber skin, that is not used in the process which if allowed to stand will pollute
the environment. Rubber seeds produced by traditional handling are still less effective and
efficient in terms of quantity, quality and time. This study aims to test the performance of
the tool at various variations of rotation speed and precise roller clearance in order to
produce good breaking quality. This research method used a complete randomized design
of RAL factorial with 9 treatments. The results showed that the effective capacity of the tool
was 106.95 kg/hour with the highest percentage of intact core obtained at a rotation speed
of 400 rpm with a roller clearance of 1.6 cm, which was 39.25%. The highest percentage
of ruptured cores was obtained at a rotation speed of 450 rpm with a roller clearance of
1.2 cm, which was 80.74%. The highest percentage of lagging cores was obtained at a
rotation speed of 500 rpm with a roller clearance of 1.4 cm, which was 10.16%. This tool
is intended to be produced because it has an NVP value of > 0 which was at a 6% interest
rate of Rp. 233.037.258,61/year and for a trial-and-error interest rate of 10%, was Rp.
203.688.052,76 /year and an IRR of 41,76% | en_US |
