dc.description.abstract | This research aims to find out the success of school literacy implementation in SMA Negeri 4 Medan in accordance with the program of school literacy movement conducted by the Ministry'of Education and Culture. The research data is obtained through observation and interviews. Data validity is tested using the triangulations of data, theory, and method. The results indicate that the school literacy program at SMA Negeri 4 Medan is carried out in accordance with the School Literacy Movement guideline issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture, consisting of 3 stages. The first stage is the habituation stage. At this stage, nearly all activities have been successfully implemented such as a 15-minute reading activity and the school literacy activities involving parents and alumni. However, there are some obstacles found, such as fostering students' i terest in reading and their enthusiasm to take part in school literacy activities during the post-covid pandemic. The second stage is the development stage. Most activities at this stage can be developed, including conducting school literacy activities, and forming a school literacy team. The results indicate that all activities at this stage have been well executed according to the Ministry of &lucation and Culture's guideline. However, some obstacles are faced by the teachers who are not the members of school literacy team. These teachers may not fully comprehend about the literacy activities. The third stage is the learning stage, which is not associated with the school curriculum and the obstacles found in this stage is minimum number of latest book collections. | en_US |
