dc.description.abstract | The final year project thesis aims to examine the social inclusion-based library strategy at the Medan Library and Archives Office, including the activities conducted and the challenges faced by the Library and Archives Office of Medan in running the social inclusion-based library program. The data collection methods include observation at the Medan Library and Archives Office, and interviews with the Library team and Mrs. Ediawati, B.Ec. The findings reveal that the social inclusion-based library strategy conducted by the Medan Library and Archives Office aims to improve the community welfare, especially household women in every village, by promoting reading instructional books to be applied in various activities, including making face masks, making cakes, making hampers, making healthy juice, beauty classes, etc. to increase the family’s income. The challenges faced by the Medan Library and Archives Office in the social inclusion-based library program include the lack of community participation in Medan, especially the household women, and the lack of funding obtained by the Medan Library and Archives Office. The contributing factors for social inclusion-based library include the provision of library collections that serve as references and sources of information for the community at mini libraries/reading corners, as well as the location of the social inclusion which encourages the active participation of all community members. In the implementation of the social inclusion-based library at the Medan Library and Archives Office, the library activities aim to facilitate the community in the development of the community’s potential by providing library facilities to develop the community’s literacy, talents and skills which can lead to the improvement of community welfare. | en_US |
