dc.description.abstract | The aim of this research is to determine the morphological diversity of cobs
resulting from a single cross from 3 parents of corn genotypes, namely, sweet
corn (Zea mays L.), purple corn (Zea mays L.cerantina Kulesh), and pulut corn
(Zea mays L.). This research was carried out in the experimental area of Kec.
Marelan terrain with a height of ± 32 meters above sea level. This research was
carried out from February 2021 to September 2022. The experimental design used
was a single cross, namely a single cross with parents of sweet corn (JJ), purple
corn (JU), and pulut corn (JP). Data analysis performed using the chi square test.
Research results Qualitative results of crossing ♀ JU x ♂ JJ vs ♀ JJ x ♂ JU, ♀
JP x ♂ JJ vs ♀ JJ x ♂ JP, ♀ JJ x ♂ JU vs ♀ JU x ♂ JJ, 4 types are obtained the
arrangement of seed rows namely regular, irregular, curved and straight and
obtained The 3 types of cob shape are cylindrical, conical cylindrical, and
conical. Results quantitative in crosses ♀ JU x ♂ JJ vs ♀ JJ x ♂ JU, ♀ JP x ♂ JJ
vs ♀ JJ x ♂ JP, ♀ JJ x ♂ JU vs ♀ JU x ♂ JJ, ♀ JP x ♂ JU vs ♀ JU x ♂ JP, ♀ JJ x
♂ JP vs ♀ JP x ♂ JJ and ♀ JU x ♂ JP vs ♀ JP x ♂ JU showed that there were
differences in the cobs (cob length, cob stalk length, cob diameter and number of
rows of seeds) and differences in the seeds (seed length, seed width, number of
seeds and seed color). | en_US |
