Pakchoy (Brassica rapa L.) is one type of vegetable plant that belongs to the
Brassicaceae family. Pakcoy mustard is important in meeting human needs in living
everyday life. This is because the nutritional content of Pakcoy mustard is rich in
vitamins and minerals, which play an important role in maintaining health and
preventing disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of seed
dispersal weight and harvest age on the growth of baby pakcoy
(Brassica rapa L.). This research was conducted at Jl. Limau Manis, Tanjung
Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra in June to July 2023, using
a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors. The first factor is
seed sowing weight which is 2.08 g/m²; 4.16 g/m²; 6.25 g/m²; 8.33 g/m² and the
second factor is harvest age which is 15 days, 20 days, 25 days. The results showed
that seed sowing weight had a significant effect on plant height 1 and 2 weeks after
planting, shoot fresh weight and root fresh weight where the best seed sowing
weight was 8.33 g/m². Harvest age had a significant effect on shoot fresh weight,
root fresh weight, and total chlorophyll where the best harvest age was 20 days.
The interaction of seed sowing weight and harvest age had a significant effect on
shoot fresh weight and root fresh weight. The combination of seed sowing weight
of 8.33 g/m² and harvest age of 20 days produced the highest shoot fresh weight
(1293.149 g/m²).
