Peningkatan Ketersediaan Unsur Hara P dan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Jagung pada Tanah Ultisol oleh Amandemen Organik
Abstract
Screening house research, studied the application of organic amendments
(Compost and Durian Peel Biochar) to increase the P availability nutrients and the
growth of corn plants on Ultisol soil. This research was carried out at the Screen
House and Research and Technology Laboratory of the USU Faculty of Agriculture
in Medan. This study used a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with
control treatment, compost and Durian peel Biochar at doses of 20 tons/ha, 40
tons/ha, 60 tons/ha, respectively, and has 4 blocks; and corn as an indicator plant.
Parameters observed were pH, C-organic, P-total, Al-dd, P-Al, P-Fe, P-solution,
P-available, plant height, shoot dry weight, root dry weight , and plant P uptake.
The results showed that the application of Durian peel compost at a dose of 60
tons/ha was good in overcoming the acidity of Ultisol soil by reducing Al-dd there
by increasing soil pH, increasing available P, soil soluble P, plant height, root dry
weight, shoot dry weight. , due to decreased levels of soil P-Al and P-Fe. The
application of Durian peel Biochar was the best in increasing total P-levels and
reducing soil Al-dd levels. However, increasing the dose of Biochar is not necessary
to increase soil available P levels and plant growth.
