| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to find out how author productivity is based on gender in the Journal of Men and Masculinities in 2018-2022 using Lotka's postulate. This research uses Lotka's legal theory of author productivity. The method used in this research is descriptive, and data collection is done by tracing articles published in journals during a predetermined period. The unit of analysis in this study is all articles published in the Journal of Men and Masculinities in 2018-2022, totalling 304 articles and 515 authors. The calculation results showed that n (exponent) is 4.40529, and the result of C (constant) is 0.952907. Thus, the contribution of writing one article is about 95.29% of the authors who contributed over five years. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test results with α = 0.05 (95% confidence level) showed the critical value at the fundamental level is 0.0620 with a Maximum Deviation value of 0.0195. This indicates that the Maximum Deviation value is smaller than the critical value at the basic level, which means there is no significant difference between the theoretical value of Lotka's law and the observed value of author distribution in the Journal of Men and Masculinities in 2018-2022. This study shows that based on gender, the most productive authors are women. This study also indicates that Tristan Bridges is the most productive author of the Complete Count, Adjusted Count, and Straight Count calculation techniques. This study concludes that the results of calculating author productivity in the Journal of Men and Masculinities in 2018-2022 are in accordance with Lotka's postulates, and the most productive gender in writing is women. | en_US |
