dc.description.abstract | The thesis was carried out at the North Sumatra Province Library and Archives Office. The purpose of writing this paper is to understand the process of collection procurement activities carried out at the North Sumatra Province Library and Archives Office. Collection procurement is a process of providing library materials both printed and non-printed in various forms of media conducted through purchases, gifts, and exchanges. The methods used in this thesis are literature review, observation, interviews, and documentation. The research concludes that the collection procurement at the North Sumatra Province Library and Archives Office has 2 methods or processes namely through purchases and grants/gifts, and the procured collection must be adjusted to the needs of the library patrons. The collections available at the North Sumatra Provincial Library and Archives Office have met the needs of the patrons, the observation shows that the North Sumatra Provincial Library and Archives Office has carried out mandatory procurement once every year to procure collections. In conclusion, to maintain the quality of the library and provide access to relevant library materials and documents, it is very necessary to carry out a collection procurement. | en_US |
