Evaluasi Koleksi Perpustakaan Menggunakan Standar Nasional Indonesia 7496:2009 Tentang Perpustakaan Khusus Instansi Pemerintah pada Perpustakaan Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Haji Adam Malik Medan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the evaluation of the library collection of the Haji Adam Malik Medan Central General Hospital based on Indonesian National Standard 7496: 2009 concerning special libraries of government agencies. The indicators measured in accordance with these standards are basic collections, types of collections, adding collections, shredding and weeding collections. This research was conducted at the Library of RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. The research instruments used were interview guidelines and documentation. To determine the informant, purposive sampling technique was used. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of this study found that the Haji Adam Malik Hospital Library Medan has a book collection of 2.453 titles and 3.037 copies in the field of specialization, has provided a collection of publications from and about the parent agency, the type of collection in the library is in accordance with Indonesian National Standard 7496:2009, only has at least 51.65% of the collection consisting of certain subjects or disciplines in accordance with the needs of the parent agency, does not subscribe to a minimum of 10 titles of magazines related to the specialty of the parent agency but publishes magazines from the agency itself, the addition of collections and enumeration as well as weeding the collection is not in accordance with Indonesian National Standard 7496: 2009.
