dc.description.abstract | Making sodium silicate from sodium hydroxide and rice husk ash at operating
conditions is temperature at 90°C and pressure at 1 atm in a continuous stirred tank
reactor. In making sodium silicate, rice husk ash is used because it has a high silica
content. With a high content of silica compounds, rice husk ash can be used as raw
material for making sodium silicate. The need for sodium silicate in Indonesia is quite
high, and even the fulfillment of sodium silicate consumption in Indonesia is carried
out by imports from various countries.
This sodium silicate factory is planned to have a production capacity of 18.800
tonnes/year. The planned form of business entity is a Limited Liability Company
(LLC). The planned form of organization is line and staff with the required workforce
of 150 people. The factory location is planned in Jatiluhur District, Purwakarta
Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The land area required is 12.870 m2.
The results of the economic aspect analysis obtained are as follows:
• Capital Investment (CI) = IDR 273,667,866,486.05
• Total Cost (TC) = IDR 176,509,893,067.10
• Profit Margin (PM) = 21.559%
• Break Even Point (BEP) = 51.988%
• BEP Capacity Point = 9.773,660 tons
• Return On Investment (ROI) = 12.499%
• Pay Out Time (POT) = 8 years
• Return On Network (RON) = 24.998%
• Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 14.584%
Based on the results of the analysis of economic aspects, it can be concluded
that the preliminary plant design of sodium silicate from sodium hydroxide and rice
husk ash with capacity of 18.800 tonnes/year is feasible to be established | en_US |
