dc.description.abstractOne of the industrial products needed today and will continue to increase in the future is glycerol where this chemical can be used as raw material for making ink, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics, toothpaste, antifreeze solutions, chemical industry, and perfumes as well as drought prevention agents in tobacco. The main consideration behind the establishment of this Glycerol Plant is to establish a factory that is socio-economically quite profitable in the future because glycerol is a widely used chemical. The plant for making glycerol from coconut oil and water with a hydrolysis process is planned to have a production capacity of 12,000 tons / year with 300 working days a year. The factory location is planned in Mandih District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province, which is close to the port and product marketing area, with a factory area of 11,900 m2. The workforce needed in the operation of this factory amounts to 128 employees with the form of a business entity is a Limited Liability Company (PT) led by a Director with an organizational structure is a line system. The results of the analysis of the pre-design economic aspects of the linoleic acid manufacturing plant obtained are as follows: a. Total Investment Capital : Rp 1.993.155.687.168 b. Total Production Cost (year) : Rp 1.584.559.536.910 c. Total Sales Result (year) : Rp 2.228.688.000.000 d. Total Net Profit (year) : Rp 418.930.026.826 e. Profit Margin (PM) : 26, 48 % f. Break Even Point (BEP) : 31, 91 % g. Return on Investment (ROI) : 19,62 % h. Pay Out Time (POT) : 5 year i. Return on Network (RON) : 31,12 % j. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 34,48 % Based on the results of the analysis of the economic aspects above, it can be concluded that the design of the Glycerol Making plant from Coconut Oil with the Hydrolysis Process is feasible to be establisheden_US
