Analisis Pengaruh Polutan Aluminium Oksida (Al2o3) terhadap Arus Bocor dan Kekuatan Dielektrik Isolator Piring yang Dilapisi Epoxy Resin
Abstract
Insulators are components that function to isolate high voltage conductors with support poles. Insulators installed in open spaces are more prone to pollution. The air around insulators installed in open spaces often carries various kinds of pollutants such as salt from the sea, dust from metal mining operations, cement industry, snow, fog and rain. Contamination of the insulator can cause insulation failure in the form of leakage current that leads to flashover which affects the electrical ability of the insulator itself. This study aims to determine the ratio of the amount of leakage current and electrical strength that occurs when insulators are given a layer of Epoxy Resin and exposed to Aluminum Oxide pollutants. The method used in this study is the experimental method in the laboratory. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out, it is concluded that contamination of Al2O3 pollutants accompanied by increased humidity can increase leakage current and reduce dielectric strength, applying epoxy resin coatings is proven to reduce leakage current and increase dielectric strength. the ability of the epoxy resin coating to reduce leakage current occurs best at humidity levels of 80%RH heavily polluted and at humidity 90%RH lightly polluted, experiencing a decrease in leakage current by 47.17% and the best increase in dielectric strength at humidity levels of 60%RH and 70%RH is heavily polluted able to increase dielectric strength by 12.5%.
