dc.description.abstract | A thresher is a tool used to separate fruit from bunches by rotating and slamming fresh fruit bunches that have gone through the boiling process into the thresher drum with the help of rotation on the thresher drum. The research was carried out to (1) Find out the cause of failure/damage to the thresher shaft (2) Get the total deformation amount (3) Get the von Mises stress result (4) Get the equivalent elastic strain result. The material variations used in this research were Aisi 1040 steel and Aisi 1050 steel. The tests carried out resulted in (1) The factors causing the thresher to fail were overload when regulating the amount of TBS input / overload as well as the operator being negligent when regulating the TBS input method (happened repeatedly re) into the thresher which causes the shaft to break/bend (2) The lowest total deformation is found in Aisi 1050 steel of 0.00016497 m and the highest total deformation is in Aisi 1040 steel of 0.000169 m (3) The highest equivalent elastic strain is found in steel Aisi 1040 is 7.8751 mm/mm and the lowest equivalent elastic strain is found in Aisi 1050 steel at 7.6876 mm/mm (4). The von Mises stress results are the same as the values the highest was 1.5988 MPa and the lowest von Mises value of 17184 MPa | en_US |
