dc.description.abstractBamboo scaffolding is one of the oldest scaffolding systems and still used in construction work today. Bamboo's flexible characteristics, easy availability and low cost are the advantages of using bamboo scaffolding. However, some problems such as lack of durability and non-standard connections make the use of bamboo scaffolding limited. For this reason, this study was conducted with the aim of testing the critical buckling of bamboo and configuring a bamboo scaffolding model simulated with the MIDAS GEN program. The analysis showed that the critical buckling (P_cr) of bamboo with MIDAS was 88.290 kN; 69.220 kN; 82.400 kN, respectively. For theoretical calculation (Euler), the critical P values were 89.310 kN; 70.037 kN; 83.458 kN, respectively. And for calculations with the theory of Chung and Chan, the critical P values obtained were 108.046 kN; 98.868 kN; 84.938 kN. While the experimental buckling results on bamboo testing were obtained at 135.068 kN, 99.600 kN; 94.709 kN. he addition of bracing to the scaffold will increase the critical buckling value by 26% for 1-level scaffolding and 150% for 2-level scaffolding. While the increase in critical buckling values on scaffolds using cross bracing occurs by 93% for 1-level scaffolds and 313% for 2-level scaffolds. The addition of levels to the scaffolding will reduce the critical buckling value, on scaffolding without bracing there is a decrease in critical buckling by 54%. For critical buckling of scaffolding with the addition of bracing the decrease occurs only by 9%. Meanwhile, scaffolds that use cross bracing have the smallest decrease in critical buckling, which is 2%en_US
