    Abstract
Education is the foundation of a nation and school is an institution entrusted with educating the nation's children. Each country has a different education system but has the same goal, namely to advance their nation. In Indonesia itself there is a 12 year compulsory education regulation, starting from 9 years of basic education, followed by 3 years of secondary education. Since Indonesia was founded many schools have been built for the continuity of education in Indonesia, over time there have been changes in the existing education system, but there have been no changes in the existing public school buildings to accommodate the changes that are occurring in the current era. With the development of new technology and new types of education such as homeschooling and unschooling. According to Badan pusat statistik (BPS) there are 130,042 public elementary schools in Indonesia. A school with a monotonous and unattractive building form, and the building is only designed as a functional building that is only used for learning, can’t creates a sense of belonging to its users. With the changing times, we also have to provide a good education for children because of the declining marriage rate and declining birth rate in Indonesia, so we have to provide better quality for these children. Elementary school design is located in the city of Medan. The school is designed to be able to describe the impression of a school as a place to play and not give a forced impression, this building also uses green architecture so as to provide comfort for its users, provide unity between users and nature in the current technological era that is continuously developing
