Analisis Safety Integrity Level dengan Metode Layer Of Protection Analysis pada Boiler di Ptpn Iv Unit Usaha adolina
Abstract
Boiler is a high-risk equipment. In Adolina plant, boiler has the most work accidents from 2018-2022. Boilers in Adolina frequently undergo damages like leaks, wear, brittleness, and so on. This is a sign of poor maintenance and potentially could cause work accidents such as fire and explosion. Based on observation, Adolina's boiler process often deviates. The parameters measured are temperature, pressure, and water level. Failure to maintain these parameters may result in overheating, overpressure, trip, and poor steam quality. A proper protection layer is required to decrease the risk of these hazards. The reliability of Adolina’s protection layer has never been evaluated. The purpose of this research is to determine the risk in Adolina's boilers and identify also measure the reliability of the boiler protection layer by determining the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) value. This research is a semi-quantitative risk analysis, using the Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) method to identify risks and the Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) method to analyze the reliability of Safety Instrumented System (SIS). The reliability of SIS can be seen from the SIL value with a range of SIL 1-SIL 4. According to the research findings, the boiler instrumentation system poses seven hazardous risks, of which two risk are extreme risks and the other five are high risks. Out of the seven scenarios, only one has a NO-SIL target value, whereas the other six have a target SIL value of 1. The existing boiler does not yet have a SIS, so the existing SIL value is NO SIL. This indicates that the six scenarios rated with SIL 1 lack an appropriate protection layer. Therefore, improvements must be made by implementing SIS with a value SIL 1. The results of the improvement recommendations show that the target SIL value obtained is equivalent to the existing SIL
