Komunikasi Terapeutik antara Hipnoterapis dengan Pasien Gangguan Kecemasan di Kota Medan

Abstract

This research entitled “Therapeutic Communication of Hypnotherapist and Anxiety Disorder Patients in Medan”. The purpose of this research is to analyze the therapeutic communication that happens between hypnotherapist and anxiety disorder patients in Medan. The concepts of this research are communication, interpersonal communication, therapeutic communication, and hypnotherapy. The theory of this research is social penetration theory. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive research method. There were six informants who were selected using purposive technique. Data collection techniques used are observtions and interviews. The data that has been collected will be analyzed using condensation techniques, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Validity test is done by using triangulation. The results of this research showed that therapeutic communication of hypnotherapist and anxiety disorder patients happen through 4 phases, namely pre-interaction, orientation, working, and termination with several techniques such as asking open questions, listening carefully, giving chances for patients to tell their perception, showing acceptance, paraphrasing, giving clarification, being quiet, putting events in sequence, and joking.
