dc.description.abstract | National rice needs always increase along with the increasing population. Increasing rice production is a priority in the development of food crop agriculture. Efforts to increase rice production need to be sought the right method, namely by intensification by fertilizing silica and extensification by pruning. This study aims to study how the growth and yield of gogo rice if given silica pruning and fertilization treatment. This research was conducted on Jalan KL Yos Sudarso, No.3, Lk. IX Cengkeh Turi Binjai Utara, North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level. This research was conducted from September to December 2021. The method used in this study is Factorial Group Randomized Design (RAK) with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is that the pruning treatment consists of control, 1/4 leaf height, and 1/2 leaf height. The second factor is that the silica fertilization treatment consists of controls, 50 g / polybag, and 100 g / polybag. The results showed that Pruning 1/2 of the leaves of the plant lowers the height of the plant, while pruning 1/4 of the leaves results in the highest wet weight of grain and wet weight of the header. Application of silica fertilizer 100 grams/polybag produces the highest average of plant height (age 1-10 MST) header wet weight, header dry weight, root wet weight, root dry weight, but does not affect other parameters. The interaction of treatment at different levels of leaf pruning, increased application of silica fertilizer increases root volume, while pruning 1/2 leaf increased application of silica will shorten the flowering life of red sigambiri rice. | en_US |
