dc.description.abstract | This research aims to determine the growth and production of sweet potato genotypes from the lowlands of Simalungun Regency in Medan City. Simalungun Regency is the area with the highest sweet potato production in North Sumatra. This research was carried out on community land on Jalan Sembada XVI Dalam Padang Bulan, Medan Selayang District, Medan City with an altitude of ± 26.9 meters above sea level. The research was carried out from April 2023 to August 2023. The research used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 1 factor. The factor used is the genotype with 6 genotypes, namely Genotype 1 of Ujung Padang Village, Genotype 2 of Laras Village, Genotype 3 of Naga Jaya II Village, Genotype 4 of Dolok Tenera Village, the national superior variety of Cilembu and the national superior variety of Antin 3. The parameters observed are character. morphology, length of plant tendrils, number of tubers per sample, length of tubers per sample, diameter of tubers per sample, weight of tubers per sample, weight of tubers per plot, and average weight of tubers per sample. The results showed that the six genotypes of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) had different morphological characters using the IPGRI sweet potato descriptor guide. The local genotype from Ujung Padang Village was able to produce the highest production compared to several other
local genotypes from Simalungun. | en_US |
