    Abstract
This research aims to study the influence of the gowth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) and mung beans (Vigna radiata L.) using intercropping systems and various NPK fertilizer dosages. The study was conducted on Bunga Sedap Malam XVIII road, Sempakata Village, Medan Selayang District, Medan City, at an altitude of approximately 25 meters above sea level, from January 2023 to April 2023. The research employed a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two treatment factors. The first factor consisted of four intercropping levels: monoculture of corn, mung beans, intercropping of corn (70 cm x 10 cm) and mung beans (40 cm x 20 cm), and intercropping of corn (70 cm x 20 cm) and mung beans (40 cm x 10 cm). The second factor included four NPK fertilizer dosage levels: 0, 200, 400, and 600 kg/ha. The results showed that the treatment of intercropping system of corn and mung bean significantly affected the parameters of corn plant height at 5 and 6 weeks after planting (WAP), corn leaf area, corn canopy wet weight, corn canopy dry weight, cob weight per corn plot, mung bean plant height at 4 WAP, number of leaves at 3, 4, 5, 6 WAP, primary branches at 3, 4, 5 WAP, seed weight per mung bean plant and seed weight per mung bean plot. The intercropping system treatment had no significant effect on corn plant height at 2-4, 7 and 8 WAP, stem diameter at 2-8 WAP, cob length, cob diameter, mung bean plant height at 3-6 WAP, primary branches at 6 WAP, and number of mung bean pods. The treatment of NPK fertilizer at various doses had a significant effect on corn cob length, cob weight per plot and seed weight per plot of mung beans. The treatment of NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on corn plant height at 2-8 WAP, corn stem diameter at 2-8 WAP, total leaf area of corn, wet weight of corn plant canopy, dry weight of corn plant canopy, cob diameter, cob weight per corn plant, mung bean plant height at 3-6 weeks of WAP, number of leaves at 3-6 WAP, primary branches at 3-6 WAP, number of mung bean pods and seed weight per plant. The interaction between the intercropping system and the application of NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the parameters of primary branches of mung beans at the age of 6 weeks after planting.
