dc.description.abstract | This study aims to determine the results of coccin administration and soaking duration on the weight of onion bulbs (Allium ascalonicum L.) local samosir in the lowlands. This research was carried out in open agricultural land, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan, at an altitude of ± 26 meters above sea level. This research will be conducted in April-September 2023. This study used a randomized group design (RAK) method with two factorials. The first factor is the concentration of colchicin which consists of 5 levels, namely 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm and 400 ppm. The second factor is the length of soaking consisting of 2 levels, namely 5 hours and 6 hours. The results showed that colchicin treatment had a significant effect on plant height parameters at 7 MST, number of tubers, wet weight per clump and dry weight per clump. Long soaking treatment had a significant effect on plant height parameters at 6 MST. Interaction of colchicin treatment and soaking duration on the number of tubers per clump and dry weight per clump. From the results of the study, it was found that the use of kolkisinn and the length of soaking has not been able to increase the diameter of local shallot bulbs of samosir but can increase the number of saplings and dry weight of local shallots of samosir by giving kolchicin 400 ppm and soaking for 5 hours. | en_US |
