    Abstract
studies has been achieved on the manufacture and characterization of paving blocks using used concrete aggregate and bagasse fiber as filler, with the characterization carried out including physical tests and mechanical tests. This research became accomplished the usage of a hot press at a temperature of 90 °C for 25 minutes where used concrete aggregate and bagasse fiber were taken from Padang Bulan-Medan, North Sumatra. Paving blocks are made from used concrete composition (45, 44, 43, 42, 41)% with sugarcane bagasse fiber composition (0, 1, 2, 3, 4)% and resin variations (30, 35)%. The parameters examined encompass physical tests (density, water absorption capacity, porosity), mechanical tests (flexible strength, tensile strength, impact strength) and microstructure and element content tests using SEM-EDX. This characterization shows that the physical property values for density are (1.35 -1.65) gr/cm3, porosity (0.16 - 0.76) % and water absorption capacity is (0.11 - 0.45)%. Meanwhile, the mechanical property values for flexural strength are (10,196 - 22,359) MPa, tensile strength is (3,216 - 15,482) MPa and impact strength is (1,740 - 3,211) kJ/m2. As well as the results of morphological and elemental analysis showing the pores shaped, the distribution of bagasse fibers and the elements contained in the polymer concrete samples. The results of this studies display that a water absorption capacity value of less than 3% meets SNI 03-0691-1996 for quality A concrete bricks.
