Efek Ekstrak Kulit Durian (Durio Zibethinus Murr.) Terhadap Gambaran Morfologi dan Histologi Limpa Tikus (Rattus Norvegicus L.) yang Diinduksi 7, 12-Dimetilbenz-[A] Antrasen (DMBA)

Abstract

Durian peel (Durio zibethinus Murr.) contains compounds that have potential as antioxidants. Research on the effect of durian peel extract (Durio zibethinus Murr.) on the morphological and histological images of the spleen of rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) induced by Dimetilbenz-[a] Anthracene (DMBA) was conducted from September 2022 to June 2023. This study used experimental method and complete randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and four replicates. The treatments consisted of normal control which was given food and drink ad libitum, positive control which was induced 10 mg/kg BW 7, 12-Dimethylbenz-[a]-Antrasen (DMBA), treatment DMBA 10 mg/kgBB + 9 mg/kgBB methotrexate, as well as induction of DMBA 10 mg/kgBB and the administration of durian peel extract with variant concentrations of 150, 300, and 450 mg/kgBB, respectively. The results showed the administration of durian peel extract was able to reduce the weight and volume of the spleen, as well as improving the number of white pulp, the thickness of the capsule, the trabeculae (p<0.05) and the diameter of the white pulp (p>0.05), with an optimal concentration of 300 mg/kgBB.
