Abstract

The convection industry generally has various production stages, namely the pattern making, cutting, sewing and finishing stages which include thread cleaning, ironing and packaging. The factors that influence production results usually lie in efficiency and effectiveness. In the production process, what must be eliminated or minimized is waste that does not provide added value. Waste activities will affect the performance of the production process. Waste identification is carried out to determine the type of waste and uses the Process Activity Mapping method to describe the activities in the production process at each work station. Value Stream Mapping is used to describe the overall flow of production process activities so that it can be seen where the dominant waste is located. Fishbone diagrams are used to show the cause and effect relationships that occur so that they can be seen clearly so that you can find out what the causes of waste are. The dominant location of waste in Value Stream Mapping occurs, namely waiting for raw materials to continue the production process due to a shortage of raw materials which causes the entire production process to stop due to a shortage of raw materials. The solution to minimize or eliminate this waste is to implement SOPs for order recipients so that they check raw material supplies when receiving orders to prevent waste. Followed by carrying out future state process activity mapping to make improvements to the production process. Next, carry out value stream mapping of the future state to make overall improvements from order receipt until finished goods are stored.
