dc.description.abstract | Water is one of the basic necessities in daily life. However, most of the planet
is covered by water. Water covering the earth 2.5% of which is classified as fresh water.
To overcome this can be done by converting seawater into fresh water through the
desalination process. desalination method is to remove salt from seawater to produce
clean water, this desalination method utilizes solar heat as the main energy, while
adding glass media is given in the middle, and above and the location in the tub is at
the bottom of the middle of the top. for this reason, a comparative study of freshwater
productivity of conventional double-tilt solar stills and triple basin solar stills was
conducted with the aim of knowing the comparison of freshwater productivity and
efficiency produced. In this study using 2 variations of testing, namely tool a
(Conventional Desalination), and tool b (Desalination 3 tubs) conducted within 24
hours. In the results of the study obtained the best mass of fresh water during the day
is tool a which is 1233 g and on tool b which is 629 g. at night the best results obtained
are tool b which is 251 g and on tool a which is 109 g, and the efficiency results
obtained by tool a which is 29% and efficiency on tool b which is 16%. | en_US |
