Survei Penyakit Bulai (Peronosclerospora Spp.) pada Tanaman Jagung (Zea mays L.) di Kecamatan Labuhan Deli Kabupaten Deli Serdang
Abstract
Downy mildew is a very detrimental disease of maize production in Indonesia and other maize-producing countries. Peronosclerospora spp. is a fungus that causes downy mildew, which has a wide spread and can cause yield loss of up to 80%. This study was aimed to determine the spread of downy mildew disease caused by Peronosclerospora spp. in several locations in Labuhan Deli District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. This study was an exploratory study conducted by survey method that calculated the incidence and severity of disease in maize crops in four (4) locations, namely Pasar VIII, Pasar IX, Pasar X, Pasar XI Labuhan Deli District, Deli Serdang Regency. Based on study conducted in the field, it is found that downy mildew disease occurred in those four (4) locations and identified as the fungus Peronosclerospora maydis with different percentages of incidence and severity of the disease. The highest disease incidence was in Pasar XI (63,2%) and the highest disease severity was also found in Pasar XI (33,46%).
