Pengaruh Pemberian Vermikompos terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tiga Varietas Kacang Hijau (Vigna radiata L.)
Abstract
Mung beans are a legume commodity that is cultivated and used to meet direct consumption and to meet the supply of industrial raw materials, seeds, feed, and food ingredients. However, it still receives little attention from farmers, resulting in low productivity. The use of superior varieties and good fertilization is needed to increase plant growth. This study aims to determine the growth and production of three varieties of mung beans on the application of vermicompost with different doses. This research was conducted at Jalan Bunga Rampai IV, Medan Tuntungan District, Medan, North Sumatra with an altitude of ±30 meters above sea level from March to June 2023. This study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor was three varieties of mung beans: Kutilang, Vima 2, Vima 5. The second factor is vermicompost with 4 dosage levels: 0 tons/ha, 6 tons/ha, 12 tons/ha, 18 tons/ha. Kutilang variety significantly produced the highest crown dry weight and crown/root ratio, Vima 2 variety significantly produced the fastest flowering age and the highest 100 seed weight and Vima 5 significantly produced the number of branches, number of productive branches, pod weight/plant, number of pods/plant, Vima 5 also produced the highest seed yield/plot but not significantly different from Kutilang variety. The vermicompost dose of 12 tons/ha significantly produced the highest seed yield/plot, which was not significantly different from the vermicompost dose of 6 tons/ha and the dose of 18 tons/ha. The interaction significantly produced the highest number of productive branches in the combination of Vima 5 and vermicompost dose of 18 tons/ha.
