    Abstract
This research is titled "Patriarchal Culture in the Film 'Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts' (Semiotic Analysis by John Fiske)." The aim of this research is to understand how patriarchal culture is portrayed in the film 'Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts.' This study utilizes the semiotic theory model by John Fiske, in which Fiske categorizes it as television codes divided into three levels: the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. Through these three levels, the study aims to describe how patriarchal culture is depicted in the film 'Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts.' The research data is collected through observation and documentation techniques. The researcher employs data triangulation from various sources that learn about 'Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts’ and patriarchal culture . The results of this research reveal numerous codes that contain elements of patriarchal culture, including gestures, speech styles, settings, clothing styles, appearances, camera composition, actions, and lighting. The research also identifies the impacts of patriarchy experienced by female characters in the film, such as subordination, marginalization, violence, stereotypes, and double standards. The film also portrays the struggle of women in resisting the patriarchal culture that still prevails in society.
