dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study was to look at infrared thermography images and sexual behavior of ewe lambs given multinutrient feed supplementation. This study used 16 ewes that had given birth at least once, were in healthy condition, and had a normal reproductive cycle. The feed ingredients used are forage, MNB I (basic MNB), MNB II (MNB I added with Moringa leaves), and MNB III (MNB II plus the mineral Zn). The variables observed included taking infrared thermography images, observing sexual behavior, rectal temperature, vaginal temperature, vaginal pH, and vaginal swabs. The data from the analysis was tested for significance using ANOVA and for non-parametric data the Kruskal Wallis test was used.
Providing multinutrient block feed (MNB) supplementation to ewes based on the parameters of vaginal temperature, vaginal pH, vaginal swab, taking temperature with a thermal camera, and observing sexual behavior provided a faster estrus response compared to sheep that were not given MNB. The results of the three types of MNB did not show any significant differences in the estrus response. Infrared thermography can be used to strengthen the determination of the estrous response in ewe, with an effective distance of 50 cm. Supplementation of multinutrient block feed with MNB I type is sufficient for ewes, so there is no need to add Moringa leaves or Zn minerals. | en_US |
