Abstract

The family is the smallest unit of society, where the head of the family and several other people live together in one house with interdependence. The family is used as a service unit because family health problems are interconnected and affect other family members. Gout arthritis is a joint disease caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood. Elevated uric acid levels can cause acute damage to the human body, such as joint pain. The writing method used is a case study. The nursing problem she identified was the inability of family members to care for family members with gouty arthritis. Comprehensive treatment with promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative efforts must be provided to overcome this problem. Relaxation techniques and complementary therapies are recommended to reduce pain due to excess uric acid.
