Currently, corn farmers in general still use fertilization with synthetic chemical fertilizers and which in negative impacts on soil and the environment, it is necessary to take action to support corn production by using liquid organic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and production of two varieties of corn plants (Zea mays L.). The research was conducted in Namorambe District, Deli Serdang Regency, with an altitude of ± 40 m above sea level in November 2022 to March 2023 using a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The factors consisted of two, namely, varieties and concentration of liquid organic fertilizer. The difference between the two varieties as the main plot, namely BISI-18 and Pioneer-36 varieties and the liquid organic fertilizer given is as a subplot consisting of 4 levels, namely 0; 2.5; 5 and 7.5 ml/L concentration. The results showed that the BISI-18 variety gave higher yields than the Pioneer-36 variety on all parameters observed. The application of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 2.5ml/L produced the highest average which was significantly different from the concentration of 7.5ml/L, 5ml./L and control on plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, wet weight biomass, cob weight without clobber, seed production per sample and harvest index. The interaction between the two varieties of maize plants and the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer was not significant in all parameters observed.
