dc.description.abstract | Various varieties of corn have quite significant differences in morphological and agronomic characters. The production of each corn variety also varies, starting from harvest time and also different weights. This research aims to compare the morphological and agronomic characteristics of several corn varieties. This research was carried out on Becek Street, Sidirejo Village, Namorambe District, Deli Serdang Regency at an altitude of ± 60 meters above sea level. This research used a randomized block design (RBD) with 1 factor, namely the variety factor, namely the Bonanza (Hybrid), Secada (Hybrid), Local, and Lamuru (Composite) varieties. Hybrid (Bonanza and Secada), Local, and Composite (Lamuru) corn varieties were not significantly different in terms of plant height, stem diameter, and age of male flowers. Hybrid (Bonanza and Secada), Local, and Composite (Lamuru) corn varieties were significantly different in relation to age of female flowers, harvest age, cob weight with husks, cob weight without husks, rows of cobs, cob weight without seeds, cob length, cob diameter, and weight of 100 seeds Hybrid (Bonanza and Secada), Local and Composite corn varieties ( Lamuru) there are differences in qualitative characters, namely the color of male flowers, the color of female flowers, and the color of seeds. However, there are similarities in the shape of the seeds. | en_US |
