dc.description.abstract | This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of Kinetin and Thidiazuron (TDZ) on the shoot growth of Barangan banana (Musa acuminata L.) In Vitro. From April 2023 to July 2023, this study was carried out in the Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Alifa Agricultural Research Center (ALIFA-ARC) in Medan. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 2 treatment factors, the concentrations of Kinetin (K): K0 (0 mg/l), K1 (1 mg/l), K2 (2 mg/l), K3 (3 mg/l) and the concentrations of Thidiazuron (T): T0 (0 mg/l), T1 (0,5 mg/l), T2 (1 mg/l), T3 (1,5 mg/l) with 8 replications. The observed variables were: percentage of living explants, age of shoot emergence, number of shoots, shoot height, and number of roots. The results showed that the concentration of Kinetin had a significant effect on the number of shoots both before and after subculture, but had no significant effect on shoot height and number of roots. Thidiazuron concentration had a significant effect on the number of shoots both before and after subculture, shoot height and number of roots. The interaction of Kinetin and Thidiazuron only had a significant effect on the variables observed of number of shoots after subculture, but had no significant effect on the number of shoots before subculture, shoot height and number of roots. The combination of Kinetin 1 mg/l and Thidiazuron 1 mg/l produced the best shoot growth. Thidiazuron induction at the beginning of planting stimulates better shoot growth in the subculture phase. | en_US |
