Study of the Potential of Processing Waste into Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) through Waste to Energy at the Limau Mungkur Regional Landfill of Deli Serdang Regency aims to determine the potential for waste to be used as RDF from 3 (three) sub-districts in Medan City (Tembung, Denai, and Amplas) and 3 (three) sub-districts in Deli Serdang Regency (Patumbak, STM Hilir, and Biru-biru). In 2022, the waste generation for Medan City has reached 1,722.60 tons / day with a population of 2,460,858 people, while the waste generation for Deli Serdang Regency is 1,118.16 tons / day with a population of 1,941,374 people. The waste generation of 3 (three) sub-districts in Medan City is 334.48 tons / day with a population of 455,548 people and the waste generation of 3 (three) sub-districts in Deli Serdang Regency is 34.59 tons / day with a population of 171,605 people. The potential waste that can become RDF from the 6 (six) sub-districts is 332.16 tons / day which will be an input of MSW at the RDF Plant and 195.95 tons as RDF raw material. RDF products produced as much as 72.11 tons with quality size 20-50 mm, moisture content ≤ 20%, ash content ≤ 25% and calorific value of 21.07 MJ / kg. Investment for the Construction of RDF Plant at Limau Mungkur Landfill is needed Rp. 53,446,251,890 with NPV of Rp. 18,103,985,872.69; IRR of 23.25%; and B/C Ratio of 1,507 > 1; with a 7-year break-even point. The selling price of Rp. 300,000 / ton RDF with the target market is PLTU around North Sumatra, with the quality of RDF produced from the Limau Mungkur landfill is qualified to be sold to PLTU with a standard calorific value of ≥ 20 MJ / kg.
