Penerapan Pijat Oksitosin pada Asuhan Keperawatan Ibu Nifas Pasca Operasi Sectio Caesarea di Ruangan Maternitas RS Prof. Dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Mothers after giving birth, will experience discomfort throughout the body and post-delivery fatigue. This will inhibit the hormone oxytocin which plays a role in the production and release of breast milk. Oxytocin massage is massage along the spine to the fifth or sixth costae which functions to increase oxytocin, so that milk can come out smoothly. The purpose of this senior practicum is to apply nursing theories and concepts, especially maternity nursing in performing oxytocin massage in nursing care for postpartum mothers after sectio caesarea. Nursing care was carried out on July 3 2023 - July 29 2023 for three patients, namely postpartum post SC mothers by doing oxytocin massage, non-pharmacological pain management, and education to replace sleep deprivation. The results obtained after nursing care were carried out, the three patients responded very well and enthusiastically when given education and oxytocin massage. Patients and families understand how to do oxytocin massage and its benefits, manage pain and manage sleep deprivation by replacing it during the day. Education is provided to clients and also their families to continue with oxytocin massage while at home so that milk production remains smooth.
