    Abstract
Tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis can attack the lungs and can attack all parts of the body. The spread is through coughing or sneezing and people inhaling the droplets released by the sufferer. Although TB spreads in the same way as the flu, it is not easily transmitted. TB infection usually spreads between family members who live at home. However, a person can become infected while sitting next to a patient on a bus or train. In addition, not everyone who gets TB can transmit it. TB is the ninth cause of death in the world and the leading cause of death by infectious agents Indonesia is in the third position with the highest tuberculosis cases in the world after India and China.TB prevention launched by WHO, namely DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Short Course) which has the aim of breaking the chain of transmission of pulmonary TB disease and reducing morbidity and mortality due to TB in the community. In Indonesia the DOTS program focuses on early detection of cases, curing patients, and avoiding contact transmission. The term DOTS is also defined as supervision of short-term drug consumption carried out by the Medication Supervisor (PMO). This is related to the patient's adherence to taking the drug during the treatment period.
