Pengelolaan Asuhan Keperawatan Klien Diabetes Mellitus dengan Intervensi Edukasi Diabetic Self Care di Lingkungan 8 Kelurahan Asam Kumbang

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is one of the non-communicable diseases, known as the silent killer disease. Changes in self-care behavior of diabetics will minumize the risk of microvascular and macrovascular complications and the risk of recurrence thereby reducing worsening chronic conditions. This study aims to conduct a case study in the management of nursing care in Diabetes Mellitus patients with Diabetic Self Care educational interventions from assessment, analyzing problems, planning. and nursing actions and evaluations. The method used is a case study with a descriptive single case design with one client. The instrument used is diabetic self based on king's model. The results of this study indicate that there are 3 nursing problems, namely instability of blood glucose levels, knowledge deficits and non-compliance with diabetes self-care. Provided education to clients using leaflets, modules, posters and videos about the 5 pillars of diabetes self-care, namely diabetes mellitus diets, physical exercise activities, diabetes medication, checking blood sugar levels, diabetes mellitus foot care such as diabetic foot exercises. Clients who get health counseling about diabetes can optimize blood glucose levels to be stable and can run and apply diabetes self-care independently.
