dc.description.abstract | Tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum) include horticultural commodities which are one of the agricultural crops that are widely cultivated by the Karo people so that tomato plants which are horticultural crops become supporters of the agricultural sector in Karo Regency in particular and in North Sumatra Province in general. The decline in tomato production in Karo district is caused by several factors, one of which is the presence of plant disrupting organisms, both pest and disease attacks. Anthracnose disease is one of the important diseases of tomato plants caused by fungi Colletotrichum spp.. This study aims to observe the spread of anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum spp. on tomato plants in several sub-districts in Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province, namely in Tiga Pancur Village, Simpang Empat Sub-District, Surbakti Village, Simpang Empat Sub-District, Ujung Teran Village, Merdeka Sub-District and Mulia Rayat Village, Merek Sub-District. This research is an exploratory research conducted by survey method by identifying the incidence and severity of diseases on tomato plants in several districts in Karo Regency. Based on observations of disease symptoms in the field and observations at the Laboratory of Diseases of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, the disease that plagued tomato plants in the study site was identified as anthracnose caused by the fungus Colletotrichum spp. The highest disease incidence was found in Mulia Rayat Village, Merek Sub-District (95%) and the highest disease severity in Mulia Rayat Village, Merek Sub-District (35.14%). | en_US |
