Pengaruh Komunikasi Antarbudaya Komisi Pemuda Banua Niha Keriso Protestan terhadap Pelestarian Nilai Budaya Suku Nias di Kota Tangerang

Abstract

This study aims to analize the effect of intercultural communication with the determination of several dependent variables namely cultural identity (Xl), intercultural sensitivity (X2) and communication competence {X3) on the preservation of Nias cultural values by the BNKP Youth Commissian in Tangerang. The theories used in this research are Intercultural Communication, Ethnic ldentity, Intercultural Sensitivity, Communication Competence and Cultural Value Preservation. The research was conducted using descriptive quantitative method. Questionnaires were distributed to 115 respondents from members of the BNKP Youth Commission Tangerang Congregation obtained through the determination of the sampling technique, namely simple random sampling, then processed using the Slovi Formula nimus from a total of 160 people as a research population. The result showed that all hypotheses were accepted with the acquisition of data that identified that there was a positive and significant influence between the ethnic identity variable (XI) on the preservation of cultural values (Y) of 0.675, intercultural sensittvity (X2) on the preservation of cultural values (Y) of 0.601 and the communication competence variable (X3) on the preservation of Nias cultural values (Y) of 0.678. The test results show that communication competence is the intercultural communication factor that has the most influence on the preservation of the cultural values of the Nias etnic groupcarried out by the BNKP Youth Commissian in Tangerang .
