dc.description.abstractThis research aims to determine the effect of participant contributions, investment returns, claims, premium income, total asets, and capital intensity on underwriting surplus in sharia general insurance and sharia life insurance in Indonesia for the 2018-2021 period. This research is a type of quantitative research with a research population is a sharia general insurance and sharia life insurance company in Indonesia for the 2018-2021 period. Sample selection was carried out using purposive sampling with 36 companies that met the criteria as research samples. The type of data used is secondary data with data collection using library research, internet research and secondary document study methods. The data analysis technique used is the Panel Data Regression method using eviews 10 software, to select the regression model the Chow test and the Hausman test are used, for hypothesis testing the f test, t test and coefficient of determination are carried out. The research results show that participant contributions, investment returns, claims, premium income and capital intensity together or simultaneously have a significant effect on the underwriting surplus of sharia general insurance and sharia life insurance in Indonesia at a significance of α 5%. The partial participant contribution has a positive and significant effect, the investment return variable has a positive and not significant effect, the claims variable has a negative and significant effect, the premium income variable has a negative and not significant effect, the total asets variable has a positive and not significant effect, and the capital intensity variable has a negative and significant effect. not significant to the underwriting surplus of sharia general insurance and sharia life insurance in Indonesia at a significance of α 5%.en_US
