    Studi Adsorbsi Khlor Sisa dalam Penjernihan Air Menggunakan Karbon Aktif dari Jerami Padi

    Abstract
    Air bersih adalah salah satu yang penting dalam kehidupan sehari hari. Air bersih dapat diolah menjadi air minum dan dapat digunakan dalam fasilitas umum seperti kolam renang. Indonesia kaya akan hasil bumi padi yang banyak, namun limbah dari padi tersebut banyak juga yang berupa jerami dan sekam padi. Jerami padi tersebut dapat diolah menjadi karbon aktif yang bisa digunakan untuk menyerap zat-zat berbahaya dalam air. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan karbon aktif yang terbuat dari jerami padi sebagai adsorbenya. Pengaktifan jerami padi dengan cara direndam di larutan NaOH dengan kadar 2%, 10%, 20% kemudian dipanaskan diatas hotplate. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Waktu kesetimbangan Adsorpsi lalu dibandingkan dengan Karbon Aktif komersial lainnya. Adapun lama penelitian ini adalah 8 bulan. Adapun pengujian karakteristik karbon aktif menggunakan 3 metode yaitu, Kadar Air, Kadar Abu, Daya Serap Iodin. Hasil dari penelitian ini adapun efisiensi penyerapan Karbon Aktif yang diaktivasi dengan NaOH 2% sebesar 0,678%, NaOH 10% sebesar 0,998%, NaOH 20% sebesar 3,598% dan Karbon Aktif Komersial sebesar 20,948%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi penyeperan Klor dengan Karbon Aktif yang diaktivasi NaOH lebih kecil daripada efisiensi penyerapan Klor menggunakan Karbon aktif komersial. Waktu optimal untuk adsorpsi klor adalah 900 detik atau 15 menit. Karbon Aktif yang diaktivasi menggunakan NaOH menggunakan persamaan isotherm model Langmuir, Karbon aktif komersial menggunakan persamaan isotherm model Freundlich
     
    Clean water is one of the most important things in everyday life. Clean water can be processed into drinking water and can be used in public facilities such as swimming pools. Indonesia is rich in many rice crops, but many wastes from rice are also in the form of straw and rice husks. Rice straw can be processed into activated carbon which can be used to absorb harmful substances in water. This study utilizes activated carbon made from rice straw as the adsorbent. Activation of rice straw by soaking it in NaOH solution with levels of 2%, 10%, 20% then heated on a hotplate. This study aims to determine the time of Adsorption equilibrium compared to other commercially active carbon. The duration of this study is 8 months. As for testing the characteristics of activated carbon using 3 methods, namely, Water Content, Ash Content, Iodine Absorption. The results of this study as for the absorption efficiency of Activated Carbon which was activated with 2% NaOH of 0.678%, 10% NaOH of 0.998%, 20% NaOH of 3.598% and Commercial Activated Carbon of 20.948%. These results indicate that the efficiency of chlorine chlorination with activated carbon activated by NaOH is smaller than the absorption efficiency of chlorine using commercially active carbon. The optimal time for chlorine adsorption is 900 seconds or 15 minutes. Activated carbon which is activated using NaOH using the equation of the Langmuir model isotherm, commercial activated carbon uses the equation of the Freundlich model isotherm
