Increasing corn production can be done by intensifying agriculture through the
application of good cultivation techniques ( soil processing) and appropriate
fertilization. This research aims to see the effect of tilling the soil and applying NPK
fertilizer on the growth and production of hybrid corn plants (Zea mays L.). The
research was carried out on Sembada XI Street, Padang Bulan Selayang II,
Subdistrict Medan Selayang, Medan City, North Sumatra with the coordinates of
the research location (3°32'36.7”N 98°38'10.6''E ") at an altitude of 37 meters
above sea level from May to August 2023. The research used two treatment factors,
namely depth of soil cultivation and levels: 0, 10, 20, 30 cm. The second factor is
the application of Urea, SP-36 and KCl with levels: PO = 0 kg/ha P 1 = ( 150 Urea
+ 100 SP-36 + 75 KCl) kg/ha; P2 = (300 Urea + 200 SP-36 + 150 KCl) kg/ha ;
P3 = (450 Urea + 300 SP-36 + 225 KC!) kg/ha. The objective of this result show
tliat the depth of soil processing has a significant effect on plant height, stem
diameter, flowering age, seed weight by plant, seed production by plot. The
treatment of Urea, SP-36 and KClfertilizer had a significant effect on plant height,
stem diameter, cob length, cob diameter, crown wet weight, cob weight by plant,
weight of 100 seeds, seed weight by plant, seed production by plot.
