Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an infectious disease caused by HIV infection with a high incidence in the world, the virus works by attacking the immune system, so it is associated with CD 4 and blood laboratories such as hemoglobin as a routine check, C reactive protein represents inflammatory markers and D-dimer represents blood clotting factors. These 3 components were assessed to see whether there was a correlation with impaired cognitive function. Objectives: To determine the correlation between Hemoglobin, C-reactive protein, D-dimer and cognitive function in HIV patients based on the response to Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) treatment. Methods: This research design was cross-sectional, selected using a consecutive sampling technique. HIV positive patients in the inpatient ward of H Adam Malik Hospital Medan who met the exclusion and inclusion criteria were included in this study. Research starts from April to September 2023. Results: This research was conducted on 40 samples consisting of 24 men and 16 women with an average age of 41.43±14.81 years. Majority of patients had CD 4 level of < 200cell/mm3 and MoCA-Ina with a median of 19 (6 - 25) respectively. There was no significant correlation between Hb levels (p= 0.498; r= 0.110), CRP (p= 0.624; r= -0.080), and D-dimer (p= 0.858; r= -0.029) with the cognitive function of HIV patients based on responses HAART treatment. Conclusion: There is no correlation between Hb, CRP and D-dimer levels and cognitive function in HIV patients based on response to HAART treatment.en_US
